What you need to know about the 2019 Minnesota golf course expansion
Minnesota golf courses are a big draw.
And this year, the Twin Cities are adding two more to the list.
At this year’s annual Twin Cities golf championships, the top-ranked team from each of the five major golf courses in the Twin States won the title.
The two winners, the PGA Tour’s Doral course and the Varsity Golf Club of Minnesota, won in spectacular fashion.
The 2018 World Golf Championships in the United Kingdom saw the Pyeongchang team win the first title in its history, the first time a golf course has captured the coveted prize since the Ponte Vedra Links in 2007.
And the Doral golf course was named the best in the world for the fifth time in the past seven years.
The PGA of America’s Doha Open has had a pretty impressive first year.
The tournament was the largest in the tournament’s history, with the winner taking home $250,000 and the top prize of $3 million.
The winners were two PGA golfers: Justin Rose and Bubba Watson, who took home $150,000.
Other notable events include the US Open, the Ryder Cup, and the Women’s PGA Championship.
The Twin Cities have also had a strong showing at the Masters.
The Twin Cities ranked No. 3 in the country in attendance and won the PTA Championship in May.
And in May, the Minneapolis Golf Course won the U.S. Amateur Golf Association Championship in Augusta, Georgia.
